New NRA Campaign Asks Lawmakers to Pledge Not to Confiscate Guns in Times of Crisis
Ad Campaign Begins Tomorrow, NRA Reacts to Hurricanes Katrina, Rita
By JAKE TAPPER and AVERY MILLER

Hmmmm, you mean the Jake Tapper who used to write for Salon.com? I wonder what happens if we google his name and the words "NRA"

Salon.com said:
About the writer
Jake Tapper is the Washington correspondent for Salon News and a former employee of Handgun Control Inc.

Here is just the tiniest sample of the anti-gun, anti-NRA, stories he did for Salon. You can find dozens more if that kind of thing interests you:

Gee, I guess ABC News sees no problem with having a former employee and advocate for Handgun Control cover the NRA? Talk about media bias...

Here is a page where you can let ABC know that hiring lobbyists for the other side to cover the NRA isn't the most ethical practice, even for mainstream media...

You should care what any network does as many people believe stories from the news. People who don't know anything about firearms hear stories on the news about how dangerous guns are and believe some of it. They might not believe everything, but that seed is planted about the danger to family and friends. If the news media actually told the truth of gunownership, there wouldn't be debates about gun bans.

Bart, thanks for the update.

Wonderful to see that those entrusted with the now-limited power to comment on political candidates near election time will be presenting a factually accurate picture to the millions who turn to them for news.

Sent them an e-mail anyway, for whatever it's worth.

As I stated on the IANSA thread here:

Here is a little experiment we all can try. Those of you who still watch/read the "mainstream" press start counting the "guns bad, gun control good" stories on CBS, etal. prior to the IANSA meeting.

The press will try to frame this meeting with their propaganda, even more so if there is a Columbine type event they can hype. (If there isn't they will dredge up the old ones).

After you have seen the propaganda occur, reflect on past events which conveniently meshed with the media's stories.

Then, like me, you might not like the taste of the Kool Aid anymore.

I believe we are going to see more and more stories culminating with the "revelations" coming from the July 4 IANSA meeting. The Socialist Mainstream Media has their marching orders, and the propaganda war has begun. The NRA convention is the first part.

People still watch news on TV?

My television never comes on unless it's for the PS2 or to watch a dvd.

The news networks are completely irrelevant, especially the liberal MSM. People trust Congress more than they trust the media, and congress approval is at an all time low of 22%.

ABC news

ABC news, the brain dead news show. I haven't watch network news in 5 years.:neener:

I can remember when Edward R. Murrow and Walter Cronkite
were trusted by millions as a source of news not propaganda.
Maybe we were deluded in those days, but it was a pleasant illusion.

From Dan Rather presenting Microsoft Word memos in TimesNewRoman
supposedly "typed" on an Olympic typewriter in 1970s TexANG offices,
to reportage on NRA written by a former Handgun Control Inc. writer.
They make Leni Riefenstal look like an impartial documentarian.

Carl Brown we were deluded. Morrow took up for the commie ten. Yes we know each and everyone of them was a member of the Communist Party of the USA who got it orders directly from Moscow. Some say he was just nieve. We see left leaning Hollywood make an adoring movie about this and praise him. Cronkite..............well just google and read his rants recently he is not a friend of a Free USA he is a far lefty.

I take everything I hear on the news for what it is: leftest drivel. It's too bad we can't create a right swinging major news network to balance things out. A decent amount of AM radio is that way but not on any major TV news. We could have Michael Savage do editorials and have Ted Nugent report on the Brady Bunch's latest squealings

CARL BROWN - "I can remember when Edward R. Murrow and Walter Cronkite

Yep, we were.

As for Walter Cronkite, about ten years ago, in a very long interview of Cronkite in the Los Angeles Times Sunday Magazine, Cronkite admitted that he was a lifelong "Progressive Social Democrat." In other words, a communist.

He also stated that many people had begged him to become President of the U.S., but that he had declined (his natural assumption of course, that there was no way he would have been defeated for the office) because he would have made a lot of people angry, as he would have communized America and also used the military and police "to confiscate every gun in the U.S."

Re Cronkite and his Marxist media buddies, to paraphrase Billy the Shake, "A communist by any other name, i.e. Progressive Social Democrat, is still a communist."

ABC = American Bolshevik Commune

Maybe David Duke should apply for a position to be assigned to cover the NAACP convention?

How about Fred Phelps to cover news regarding homosexuals?

Media, most all of it, is now controlled by a mere 5 companies in the US.

General Electric
Time Warner
The Walt Disney Co.
Viacom
News Corporation

In the 1980's there was about 50.

This does not appear healthy to me.
Thoughts?

Regarding the orientation, in most cases, of media and network types, does this surprise anyone

Silver Bullet, the guys "here" that claim there isn't a liberal bias, are liberal. It won't matter how obvious it becomes. To admit major media bias, means their normal talking points are b.s.! Don't expect them to. Most are FAKING their 2nd Amendment support. A few, probably don't even realize, what dupes they have become.

Leanwolf, of course the liberals, still would like to call Cronkite "the most trusted man in America". His unmasking of himself, and by others, has shined a light on him, and his politics. It hasn't been very pretty, if you care about media being a REPORTER of news, instead of a SHAPER!

Gee, with that kind of "leftist" anti-corporate attitude, maybe you ought to be employed by one of them.

That's what burns my ass about this "left-wing media" nonsense; the media is run by big corporations for the sake of big corporations. It ain't left-wing or right-wing-- it's whatever maximizes their bottom line.

Real conservatives and real liberals alike don't matter none to them, because neither one is going to give them what they want. That's why they promote these godawful "neoconservative" and "neoliberal" politics.

Thanks for the head's up. I wrote an e-mail to ABC letting them know that they'll probably soon be following in the footsteps of Dan Rather and Mary Mapes for their editorial assignment decisions.

I did the same, here is the (non) reply.
