About the NY attack

This doesn’t involve an armed citizen but it does include an armed person stopping an attacker. Rarely do I hear about how these killers are stopped. It’s a short easy read with a great interview quote from the armed police officer.

Since the attack had ended with the crash of the rental truck and the murderer had imitation weapons instead of real ones there are limits on how we can consider when this murder was stopped. IOW, it wasn't.

More interesting in the article is the fact that a citizen had tried to tackle the murderer and eventually kicked the imitation weapons away when the murderer was downed by police.

The attacker's real weapon was the truck so once it crashed his murder spree was over. But given that imitation weapons can be very realistic, tackling that attacker and kicking his "weapons" away took guts and at least prevented his escape even tho' wounded.
