Got a Midway flier and it's in there. I have a RCBS trimate (original) and it works really well. I bought the 3 way cutter also and have it chucked to a 1/2" drill.

This universal does it all (for a price!) $360.

Looks pretty nice and being RCBS I am sure well made. just wondering if it's worth the money? Would be nice to ream out crimps which I do now with a Hornady tool on a drill.

So any Pros or Cons??

On sale plus a $50 rebate

Nice unit but slow motor

I purchased a refurb for around $100. & it does a good job overall. I just find the speed of the motor to be ssssslow. I've used a electric drill with my Trim Pro for case trimming & it can be too fast. Prep centre is a good tool & chk out RCBS website for refurb's, great lower prices. SgtRock out

O.P. is asking about the new Universal Prep Center which includes a trimmer. Not the Trim Mate.

I have and like the old one too, and since I've automated my Forster Trimmer, I don't have a need for the Universal. But it looks hot. If I was just starting I'd sure buy one.:)

This thread needs a picture of the Universal! I like the two-speed motor....that's an improvement over the old Trim Mate.

Yes, that is the one ^^/I posted a link to Midway.

Some of the gadgets turn at different speeds.

There are six stations available for case preparation, four turning at 360 RPM and two turning faster at 550 RPM

Only think hold me back is the price as I have the original RCBS Trimmate which required shell holders for each caliber, No big deal as I mainly trim 223 and 308.

A built a stand to hold my 1/2" drill so it is a a power unit and with the 3 way cutters the chamfer and deburring is done at the same time.

Wow Larry is giving me Birthday Pricing which is the same as the sale price. There is a $50 rebate.

You have a trimmer with the three way head now, so the chamfer and deburr stations are not needed. And really you don't need another trimmer unit at all anyway.

The method you use now for cutting away primer pocket crimps is totally workable and you can motorize it if you want, you can get a primer pocket cleaner or uniformer for cheap.

So, is that 360 bucks really buying you anything of actual, useful value?

Just for consideration, you could upgrade to the newer version of the Trim Pro that comes with the universal case holder, add your existing three way trim head to it, unscrew the handle and chuck the spindle on your drill, for around a hundred bucks. I actually do not think you need to do this, you already have shell plates and I'll bet the trimmer you have does a fine job.

Maybe add something like this.

Still qualify for some rebate and have a load of cash leftover.

No you are absolutely correct. I do not need one. I have a WFT also. I don't need anymore guns either.;);) But we all know it's not about need. It's want.:D

Ever notice that every Sinclair/Brownells catalog you get, you seem to have nothing as far as reloading stuff even though you bench and cabinets are full of stuff??:D:D

There is a 12 step meeting near by.

I'm with you on that. I hear that transdermal patches are coming soon.
