I am interested in putting this on my PA10 lower
PSA 18" Mid Length 308 WIN 1:10 SSK15 Upper - with BCG and Charging Handle

I originally wanted to do a 20-22" but realized once I add a suppressor that damn thing will be like 5ft long. So I think I will do an 18" But I want it to be an accurate rifle. I want to hit 1000 yd targets.

What type of accuracy do you think I could expect out of this barrel? PSA has no info and the person on the phone was not sure. They said they would get back to me after speaking with a tech but I truly don't think they will.

if your worried about it being to long with a supressor for a full size barrel, methinks you need TWO upers
one regular 20-24inc for regular 1000 yard work. and a short one for your subsonic funtime.

On another forum a guy shot a decent 1.5" group using white box Winchester. I don't see any reason why these wouldn't be as accurate as their AR15s which will do sub-MOA with good hand loads.

At 1,000 yards, the problem with .308 Winchester is losing enough velocity that the bullet is going trans-sonic and becomes unstable. A 22 inch barrel is barely enough, many long range shooters have used 26" and 28" to pick up more velocity. Your 18 inch barrel is going to lose you perhaps 200fps depending on the load, you will now have a nice 600 yard rifle. There's no arguing with Physics, it's the Law.

I agree, a 7.62 AR with a 16-18" barrel makes a great 600 to maybe 800yd rifle in a decently compact, fast shooting package that can shoot widely available ammo. Longer barrel upper or bolt gun for 1000 out of .308...but then if we are getting another upper for the long stuff, makes sense to go 6.5CM or 260 Rem.
