I got to go shoot the other day and I used a lot of my reloads.
However I noticed some factory ammo I had (9MM, Tula, brass FMJ's) had better groups than my reloads which I thought was rather odd, since I try to reload for better accuracy.

Now, What is YOUR favorite powder for ACCURATE loads in:
9mm, Montana gold 125 g JHP
9mm, Hornady XTP 90 g
9mm, Remington 115 g FMJ

I've been using HP-38 and Accurate No.2 and Accurate No.5. for my powder. I also tend to max out the powder load according to my reloading manuals. I really don't want to lower the powder because I've noticed factory loads have a lot more recoil and they are louder. I'm assuming they just have way more powder than reloading manuals state as the MAX load.

Thanks in advance

Steve

Supposedly not...
I'm curious for anyone's accurate 9mm recipes also.

I don't understand this... if you are going for accuracy over all else, you might have to lower your charges to find the most accurate load.

I have consistently found the best accuracy with both of my 9 mm pistols when using W231/HP-38 at levels significantly lower than max. I've had to run closer to max (but not all the way there) when using Unique. In either case, though, I started just above the start load and worked up in small increments toward a near max load. The recoil and noise levels have nothing to do with accuracy. In fact, the louder, heavier recoiling loads are more likely to cause flinch and reduce accuracy, in my opinion.

Sorry, No ACCURATE data but:

I reload with

9mm 124gr Montana Gold FMJ, 4.4gr W231 seated at 1.150. Shoots accurate, I have tried 4.5-4.6 and lose accuracy with higher loads. I make minor PF with this load. Avg 1050-1090fps.

What works for some may not work for others, it depends on your handgun.

Try 6.8grs of Accurate #7 under the 125 @ 1.050" OAL. That's a very accurate load in my guns.

I load exclusively with jacketed bullets, so my approach has always been to use slow burning powders.
For 9mm I have been running Longshot, it has been extrmely accurate for me, and delivers velocities that are at least that of any factory load I've ever fired.
Same for my other handgun cartridges, and magnum wheel gun loads, I use slow burning powders so I can get full tilt performance without having to deal with pressure issues. In short, faster burning powders are much harder to get up there without experiencing pressure issues. 231 and other fast burner's are great target powders, but they aren't intended to be used for full tilt loads, in my opinion.
