ACOG's

I've read more than I care to admit about Trijicon Acog's and realized they are expensive.
I am blind in the left eye, (can't see out of the right eye, LOL) and was wondering if this disability would effect my sighting with a Acog TA31?

Nope! I have the opposite problem, Blind in my right eye. You shoot it like any other magnified optic.

Welcome to the forums BC&C...

The ACOG is designed for both eyes open aiming (Armson O.E.G. & Bindon Aiming Concept)... so, to be honest, the primary benefit is kind of lost on you.
Saying that... they're still excellent combat sighting systems, and if that's what blows your skirt up, get one.
Personally, If I was in your boots, I'd spend the money on a good, compact tactical 1-4X illuminated scope with a reticle you like for your needs.

Thanks for you honest opinion.
I've kind of spoiled myself over the yr.'s but have began to back off with the overkills due to a questionable economy within our future.
Please don't go there, I refuse to discuss politics and it's against forum rules.
Just saying.
What other optics would you all suggest for a DDM4V1 being shot at 0'-400 yards?
Looking for something with good optics, waterproof,fog-proof, shock proof,
ir reticle, bdc and a little cheaper than Trijicon ACOG's.
Preferably w/ a green cross hair sight.

There are plenty (and I do mean boat loads of the things) of scopes out there with most of those specs... but you've gone a little sideways with the green illumination. I've seen it on some "modest quality" Lepers and, I think Hawke scopes, but green illumination on a "better quality" scope... can't think of any. Maybe someone else will know.

Ya' know... come to think about it, Trijicon makes a few scopes with green reticles in the sub $1400 range... no BDC though. A TR22-2 would be nice if you're shooting at small targets at 400 yds in variable light conditions. If not, a TR20-2 would be a bit less coin. Hell, even a TR23-2 would be cheaper... and that's with a side parallax adjustment.

I would take a look at the 1-4x Trijicon Accupoint. It is regarded as rugged with excellent glass for a good amount less than an acog.

I have the same problem as you. Blind in my left eye, I am right handed and shoot using my right (only) eye.
I bought an E-otech and an Aimpoint T-1. The only reason I did not buy an ACOG was because of the additional cost. The E-otech I bought for $409 at Cabellas, and the Aimpoint I got for $509 ($709 list) as I am an NRA instructor.
Go for it. YOu will like it and it WILL work great for you.

Well, I went ahead and bit the bullet.
Acog TA31-CH-G arrived today and all I can say is, SWEEEEET.
Definately worth the money.
I'm a happy camper.
Had to call just about the entire Trijicon dealer directory in our state to find this particular one though,
and got a deal on it to boot.

Now for a good laser sight.
Any suggestions?
