How about if we establish a nationwide calling tree in case firearms confiscations happen? That way, no matter where in the country it starts, other people in the country will be notified of it. If it is organized properly, the whole country can be notified in a matter of hours.

Does this idea fall under the "activism dissussion & planning" category? If it does not, can somebody please explain to me why and how it does not.
 
I'm pretty sure that if confiscations were to happen, we'd simply have to turn on the news to find out about it. That's not exactly the sort of thing the MSM would let pass them by.
 
yeah! everyone start posting your name, phone #, and address so I can compile a list for in case of emergency...

oh wait...

it's a good idea, but i'm pretty sure it would be hard to arrange without it being permanently stuck on the net for the .gov to find...

not to mention there are enough gun owners where if that ever happened, there would be roving bands of gunowners
 
I find it amazing that this post is still up, because a couple weeks ago, I made a post of the exact same subject and the post was taken down in a matter of hours. The only difference was that I posted the website of a group that is actually doing this idea.

Maybe the moderator just hasn't seen this posting yet.

Yes, but that doesn't mean that anyone will agree with your idea.

Actually, if you posted in Activism it came down because it amounted to an "FYI" posting instead of any real plan. "Hey look here" isn't a plan.

Here and now you're exploring the idea of such a calling tree. Perfectly reasonable to see what people think of the idea and starting to develop a plan around the idea. Matter of fact, you could even incorporate the site you referenced originally into this discussion.

having an emergency plan based on the phone system has a lot of downfalls. We take the fact for granted that when we pick up our phones that we can just call someone else on the other side no problem. Well if millions and millions of people all start calling each other to warn of any sort of emergency then the lines get overcrowded and jammed. If you want an emergency system I suggest you start with your neighbors and others in your community as your source of information. Then work on linking other communities to you as well. My girl lives in NJ and I live in CO. We have a network of people across the U.S. in case of an emergency to get messages to each other. I will never rely on something that runs on batteries or a power supply as my emergency network.
 
Wouldn't it be better to have a few people here monitor or participate in a call tree and then use forums like THR to alert the membership?

But, won't we get the same by monitoring forwarding reports from GOA and NRA and JPFO?
 
KD I am pretty sure I read your thread on the matter although it seems to have been erased--Thankfully.

It linked to a site that appeared to me to try and justify a Revolution. I'm guessing this is why the Mods removed it.

If Gun confiscation starts we won't need a call tree. The mobilization needed to pull it off could not be kept secret.

We do have a few friends in the Gubmint--The whole system is not corrupt! There are many in Govt. who care about the Constititution and the same goes for LEO and Armed Service members.
