Hey guys,
A friend of mine has decided to embark on building a pretty much totally custom 92 Brigadier. He is basically trying to build a real version of a gun off of a movie. Why? Doesn't matter to me. It's his gun and he wants to. And honestly when it's finished it will be a really impressive gun. His two biggest obstacles right now are as the title described, adding a 1911 style beavertail and an extended tac-rail to the gun.

He has contacted several "gunsmiths" locally, and across the country. No one wants to seem to help him. All he gets as far as replies to his queries are how dumb it is and how they hope the gun blows up on him. Obviously not "High Road" people. One guy he emailed actually told him he would do it, for $40,000. Or he would send him a CNC blueprint of a Beretta 92 for $8,000.

So I told him I would go to the best source I know, THR. There would be some welding for the beavertail, and some machining/welding for the extended tac-rail. So if you guys know any REAL gunsmiths that you think would be willing to help, he would be very appreciative. I was going to post pics of what he has now with what he wants, but it will not let me post both pics. I can only choose one or the other. So I'll post what he wants. If you know the Beretta Brigadier, you'll know what needs to be different. If you, or the gunsmith, need the pic of what he has now, I can post that in a separate message. Thanks guys. I really hope he can bring this dream to fruition.

It looks like the rail is one of the cheap bolt on units for a 1911, they are aluminum. I have a good tig welder attatch the rail and a beavertail then shape them down myself. It should cost less than $400

That's what I would think also. The frame is apparently some kind of aluminum alloy and he wants the rail to either be machined, or if there is an aftermarket one that can be welded on, that would be fine too. He's just not finding anyone willing to do the work. He's willing to ship the pistol if need be. To me, it doesn't seem like it would be a big deal to do this. Idk why so many are opposed to him doing it. It's gonna be an eye catching , fully functional, custom gun. I think it's because it's a copy of a gun off of a movie.

Resident evil by any chance?

The beaver tail should not be too hard, I know there are bolt on/glue on or similar for the Sig P210

Yes. Resident Evil. My friend is a bit of a "Nerd". I don't mean that in a condescending tone. The kid is extremely intelligent. He's a hard worker. But he's a video game/movie/tech guy. This was actually his first gun. He was going to build it as an airsoft. I convinced him to just build the real thing. Actually I introduced him and his wife to shooting. They love it. Both are really pretty good shots and have started their young son shooting. But I need this thread to stay on topic. I still haven't found a gunsmith/machinist. Someone here has to know someone that will do this.
