I posted a thread last week regarding the safety of forming a crimp on plastic hulls using a mallet. (Note: the primer is over a counter sunk hold so it is not in contact with a surface) This was in regards to the discontinued (late 80's I believe) Lee Loaders for Shotguns. They had originally worked well on paper hulls but am having difficulties with the plastic hull crimp.

Other questions:
These are quite common on Ebay and seem to sell well. Is anyone else in the forum trying their mettle in loading shotgun shells with these products? Again, there are plenty of threads regarding the Lee Loader for rifles and pistols but ones on the shotguns are very rare.

If so...Have you been successful at this point?

I feel these kits have the possibility for a good minimalist kit for shotgun reloading if the issue of crimping can be satisfactorily and safely addressed. They obviously sold for many years after plastic hulls and plastic shotcups become dominant over paper and fiber wads.
