Thank you for your enquiry of 30/1/2015 with regard to reloading using ADI Sporting powders.

As mentioned on www.adi-powders.com , a propellant burn event at our flake (shotgun and pistol) powder drying building terminated our production of these powders.
Please note that this building processes only flake powder, and our rifle powder production was not affected in any way. Fortunately the building is operated by remote control, and none of our personnel were injured. The building has now been recommissioned and is back running. ADI is once again in full production of AS30N, AS50N, and AP70N. Unfortunately, we cannot comment on when products will reach your local retailer.

The Hodgdon Powder Company are exclusive distributors of ADI Powders in North America. Please contact Hodgdon regarding distribution in your local area.
Attached is a list of powders that ADI Powders supplies to the North American market through Hodgdon Powder Company.

Extreme caution should be taken and loads should be worked up accordingly. Refer to our website at www.adi-powders.com.au or our 7th edition handloaders’ guide for more information, warnings and reloading safety.

We thank you for using ADI Sporting Powders.

Now that ADI is shipping to the shores of the USA, and with other powders coming online, good (no drama) times be ahead.

So will all you handloaders return to the Clays powder?

Maybe you found a new favorite powder over the past year?

One thing I would like to know is what should pistol powder and primers cost per lb and per 1000? Will prices go down? What is the new normal?

Good to know Clays new number: AS30N. I still have a couple lbs, but will be on lookout for new stuff when it hits the markets. My favorite for light target pistol loads.

That's not Clays new number, it's the same number it's always been when ADI refers to it. When Hodgdon imports it they change the name to Clays. When you buy here in the US it will still be called Clays.

I used to use Universal for .357 and Clays for .45 auto almost exclusively, now I'm starting to get hooked on HP38 for both. Might just stick with that.

Ive never used clays, but my lgs had the whole line of clays in stock a couple weeks ago.

powder is coming back Locally, im seeing powder at ~$20 a pound and primers at $34/k.

Used lots of other things, but miss Universal.
Universal and HP38 are 2 of my favorites for Pistol.

Hope we see some soon.
Maybe now that the plant is back on line and in production it will help with pistol powder availability......
(oh well, nice to dream)

Just the fact Clays, Universal, International, H4227 and Trail Boss are back in full production has to help the powder supply situation.

ReefinMike,
I they still have it try some Universal.
I think you will like it. Just a little slower than HP38. Think Unique that is much cleaner and meters well.
(charges are different but uses and burn rate are about the same. However you can push Unique a little harder IMO)
