I've finally decided to fit my Rem 1100's to my body, and the first order of business is to give them more drop. I'm thinking that rather than have a custom stock made, I may just have an adjustable butt plate fitted.

Anyone using an adjustable butt plate? Good/bad?

Butt-heavy. This could be good, or bad, depending. I know people who have shot better, or much worse, after putting one on. I opted against it in favor of a muzzle-biased swingin' gun for trap.

Are you looking to change drop at comb or heel, though?

Adjustable butt plate doesn't change POI as much as one might think; it just makes the gun sit on the shoulder more precisely/comfortably.

I used Morgans for a while. Didn't have enough drop for me. There's a Jones Through The Pad setup now on my 870TB. Works OK. Did add a few oz but that one was kinda muzzle heavy before.

One tip, install a Jones, 100 Straight, etc and leave the pad untrimmed. More surface means more comfort.

Thanks for the pointers. I may try to get replacement butt stocks first, and then if that gives no joy I'll look at the Jones.

Thanks again.
