I'm wondering if anyone here knows how to adjust the trigger pull on an older Savage Model 110, 30.06. I know the newer ones are supposed to be user friendly but this one is old enough I can't even find out when it was made without paying a man who does searches on them for a small fee. I'm not sure he is still doing that either.
I got this gun used and fired it for the first time today. Whoever had it before set the trigger pull weight way too high. You just put your finger on it and start squeezing...keep squeezing...squeeze some more...BANG! The trigger does not move at all until the rifle fires and it took me and my shooting buddy by surprise. I've always squeezed the trigger. You about have to jerk the trigger on this rifle. Needless to say, accuracy problems resulted, and I didn't like the surprise BANG! much.
I would welcome input from anyone with any knowledge or info on this.

Thanks for the websites, Smokey 262. You found more specific info than I did. Doesn't look like a particularly difficult job, but I won't know for sure until I tear into it.
