Adjusting Simmons red dot

I have an inexpensive Simmons red dot sight. It came with -0- directions. There are two adjustment screws. One on top of the sight and one on the right side.

If I am centering the red dot dead on at 50' but it is impacting both low and a tad right, how do I make the adjustments to get better alignment...

Top screw is elevation (up/down) ... the one on right is lateral (left/right).

They are usually set to give 1/4 minute clicks of adjustment .. 1 minute at 100 yds is all but 1". So at 50' .... which we can call 17yds ... each click will probably only change POI by a fraction.

Each screw should be marked ''up'' and an arrow for top one and ''left'' and an arrow for one on the right.

Use a dime and rotate each screw towards the direction you need corrected.

In your case maybe try 8 clicks in ''up'' arrow direction and 4 clicks in direction of rotation shown by ''left'' arrow on right side adjustment. Then put a few rounds down .. keep adding or subtracting adjustment until you get the shots where they need to go.

You don't say what weapon and cal this is on .. if handgun then fine but if rifle I would progress quickly to 50 and then 100 yds .... as close shots will falsify things a bit due to bullet being ''on the rise'' a lot, relative to axes of barrel and sight.

Thank you! Even with my reading glasses I couldn't read the "up" letters on the adjustment screw. I'll work on that next time I am at the range... oh, it is a handgun...thanks again.
