Short story - I have a line on a Remington 1100 trap-t that is for sale, seller inherited from his father and has never been fired.

Long story - I've only been back shooting for about a year and have focused on handguns, mostly 1911's. I've been thinking I'd like to pick up a shotgun for occasional trap shooting. I had a remington 1100 30 years ago and havent seen it in 25 years since my brother borrowed it. Up until last spring, it was the last firearm I owned. I'm thinking I may eventually want a nice over under, but for a few hundred dollars, this may be a nice stop gap solution.

any knowledgeable comments on the 1100 trap-t model would be greatly appreciated. It has a 30" barrel full choke, supposedly mint condition, no scratches.

Was and is a great trap gun. Get an inexpensive T&S shellcatcher so you won't be flinging empties on the ground when shooting singles and handicap. I'm sure it's a fixed full choke which is fine for trap.

Fine choice.

Older Target Grade 1100s and 870s had upgraded wood and superb polishing.

Enjoy....

I bought it today. There are a couple of minor "indentations" in the wood which can only be seen upon extremely close inspection, with no nicks or scratches. The wood is beautiful and it looks like it just came off the shelf.

I'll try and post some pics tomorrow.

Howdy

I came across one and bought it about a month ago. Same thing, 30" full choke barrel. It is a very nice gun, and I like it, but I like my old Model 12 better. The 1100 is noticeably heavier than my Model 12 and I am much more used to the way the Model 12 swings.

But the 1100 is a very nice gun too. Be sure to get the shell catcher, not so much to keep your empties off the ground but so you don't pelt the guy next to you with your empties. That can be annoying. To the guy being pelted.

Full choke is a little bit tight for Trap, most of the guys I shoot with are using Improved Modified, which is one step more open than full. But I learned to shoot Trap with a full choke, so I am used to it. You do have to be a bit more precise with the full choke, it is a bit less forgiving than the IM.
