I just picked up an Aero Precision midlength rifle from Brownell's at a really nice price. I swapped out the M4 stock for an A1-length fixed stock from Fulton Armory (made by Cav Arms, I'm pretty sure), and I added a Spike's carry-handle rear sight. I think it gives the gun an old-school rifle look while still being a handy carbine. I'll have to get to the range soon, but visually I'm impressed with the Aero Precision's quality level. Other than the barrel being nitrided instead of chromed, it appears to be similar in quality to my Colt 6920.
The only gripe I have about the Aero Precision is that it did not come with a front sling swivel. It's just a $4 part that most buyers will want, so why omit it, especially when proper installation requires a rivet instead of a simple screw or pin? Lacking the proper tool, I found that installing the rivet wasn't the easiest of jobs, and my results weren't the prettiest, but I did get it adequately done.
