Greetings All!

Hope everyone had a great Turkey Day. For me--today was awesome. Went out to my cousin's place on the river in the middle of nowhere. Had a blast--literally!!!! Met some friends of theirs who came to shoot too. We had everything there from .22s to a Barrett! Some nice friends--huh?!?!? Cuz had set up a range across the river and we shot everything under the sun. Had a clay competition and I actually hit some! For our grand finale--shot tracers across the river with the .50 :D Just couldn't help bragging a bit!!

I got out on the ridge yesterday evening, a while after dinner settled, and right before dark, I put a one shot kill on a nice heavy-bodied buck. His rack won't start to score Boone&Crockett points, but the way the hunting played out over the last week, he's a trophy to me just the same. My family will eat good venison for a while. I used my 1971 Winchester .30-30 and placed a 150gr CoreLokt in the boiler room from near a 100yds by my Daddy's estimate. The hunting was after we'd stopped by the range to check my rifle's sights and I got to talking hunting with another guy who stopped in for the same reason.

Ya'll sound like you had a good day too. Any of this beats watching football.

Went to a gun shop I frequent and bought a CZ 453 American in .17 HMR for my dad (not a Christmas present, just an impulse gift). Got a $42 voucher for my next purchase as the shop had a special sale today. :) Went directly to the range to zero (put on the scope from my 3 position gun, CZ 452 American .22 lr) and group. Practiced a little off hand with my other open sight 3 position gun, CZ 452 Trainer. Then practiced a little off hand with an RAA CM-2, iron sights. Ran out of time to practice with my CMP Kimber 82 Government.
