There have been may threads over the past year predicting a mentally unstable & deranged individual will go on a shooting spree with an assault weapon before the AWB expires. The theory is that such an act would energize congress to quickly pass an extension to the AWB.
This theory doesn't hold water, since (in reality) such an event would only prove that the current AWB is ineffective.
But when you think about it, such an event occurring after the AWB expires would be extremely "useful" to the anti-gunners. Their argument would be, "See! See! We predicted this would happen after the AWB expired!! This is what happens when we allow assault weapons to flood the streets!! We need another assault weapons ban! Now!!!"
Do you understand how a shooting spree with an assault weapon after the AWB expires is much more "useful" to the anti-gunners vs. a shooting spree before the AWB expires?
I apologize for my pessimism, and I pray to God it never occurs, but it's probably only a matter of time before such an event occurs. So what to do? My advice is to buy up as many assault weapons as you can, while you can, after the sunset. Think of it as a short window of opportunity.
