I have a No. 4 Mk 1 that I have redone in .45 ACP. Are there any "drop in" options or would I have to work with what's already there?

I don't know about the trigger, but I would be interested in hearing how well this thing functions.

A buddy of mine has a De Lisle. It was surprisingly accurate and the suppressor worked great (It should for as big as it is) but he could never get it to reliably feed from the magazine (1911 magazine). His was not an original De Lisle but was a reproduction. Everybody has their individual taste in firearms but for me the De Lisle was always one of the coolest for me. When he bought it, I was probably more excited to play with it than he was.

Didn't Springfield Sporters offer a .45ACP carbinized LE?

Never heard much about them but the idea seemed cool.

I know that for a bit someone sold a kit to convert a K98 Mauser to .45ACP and I thought one for the LE.

Ahh, Timney - their website shows one for 6-round magazine LEs, one for 5-round. Since my magazine has a 1911 mag welded through the middle of it, I'll have to make sure I get the right one. Thanks!

Timney Enfield triggers are for the Mauser derived 1917 Enfields---NOT Lee Enfields.
The construction of the L-E trigger does not lend itself to a drop-in replacement, so you will have to work with what you have.

"Drive the trigger into place between the sear/catch arm tabs. Do not worry about the tabs breaking off!"

That's from the installation instructions for the Can West trigger. I wouldn't worry about breaking the tabs off, either---what's a little sheared off steel between friends?
I would worry about rapidly running a cock-on-closing bolt into a finely adjusted sear engagement. (As in Dayton-Traister vs. M 96 Mauser.)
The Can West guys are not kidding about needing a gunsmith to install their trigger, either. There is some real serious understatement in the installation instructions.

The other guy wants to sell you an expensive "match grade" replacement trigger of standard L-E type (with Teflon!) which does nothing about the sear engagement of the regular military parts.
Don't sweat it, though, your disappointment won't stick to the Teflon.

Add one more to the list of reasons why I won't buy an Enfield, then. Right behind "ugly" and "weak action". Local gun store has an Ishapore 2A in 7.62 NATO on the shelf. While it's one of the better-looking Enfields, the action is too weak to handle commercial .308 ammo and I really don't like the idea of shooting a rifle that's only one step away from blowing up in my face.
