The great state of Minnesota is now allowing us turkey hunters to pursue our quarry until sundown. This is great as it will allow me to run out after work a couple times this week before my scheduled 2 full day hunts at the end of the week.

I've never been out in the turkey woods after about 3:00 PM. How should my strategy differ from my morning & early afternoon hunts?

not much......Toms may even be a little more responsive as sometimes the hens tend to leave them before they go to roost. Those that weren't spooked during their morning routine will return to their familiar roost to do the routine over again the next day.....so if you know where they roosted last night, odds are they will be back to roost there tonight....and gives you a place to set up for an evening hunt. If they aren't there the night before your full day hunts, you then have one place you know they wont be in the morning.

Good points Buck.

Over the years I've had difficulty consistently locating roosting areas on this land. I don't know if I'm not looking in the right spots or I've just been unlucky.

I have taken several birds from this area so the birds ARE around, I just haven't had much luck locating their roosting sites.
