So i went turkey hunting this past weekend, opening morning in arkansas, and found myself that morning without any shells. so i drove to walmart at like 5-oclock to run in and run out, so i get inside and just grab the first box of shells i see that are 5 shot 3 inch, ended up being Remington Nitro Turkey. Ended up being a GREAT shell, got a jake from 50 yards that afternoon. Anyone else try the shells out?

They group the worst of all shells I've tried out of my 870 Supermag. The best for my gun are Federal Premium 3.5" 2 oz. #5 shot. I'm a firm believer in the flite control wad.

Remington consistently makes some of the worst patterning shells in turkey loads. Even in their own guns they just don't perform as well as others...esp. winchester.

I am glad they worked out for you on this hunt...congrats.

Rem Nitro Turkey 3" #4's patterned best out of my Mossberg 500 @ 40 yards. #5's patterned pretty well also, better than the other 6 loads I tried that day. Seems to be a decent turkey load, no complaints.

Broke cherry with an old bird haha

Blasted this one with 3" federal 4shot. Didnt even notice any recoil its not so with the 3.5" turkey loads I used last year in my 870. The bird was my first in about 3 years of turkey hunting. Its alot different than deer. He was 21.8lb, 10" beard, and his spurs are 1 3/8" My buddies were all shocked at its spurs. I was real lucky cause the weather and the fact the number of birds keeps then henned as soon as they come down around here. They have not been as vocal as in years past. Wife may kick my <>< out when she see's this thing in our living room this fall. Ok I dont know what pic will post if any

When I saw the thread header on the main page, I thought it was going to say "Went Turkey huntin with NITROMETHANE."
