I took saturno's instructions and went back to Dunhams to go over the 1932 mn 91/30. Eveything checked out and it was in great condition except that they would not allow me to squeeze the trigger to check, there is no bayonet that comes with it(don't really need one anyway), and when I check inside the receiver for burrs, I found one. How easy is this to correct or should I look at the other dozen counterbored 91/30's that are $60 bucks cheaper?

What I planned on doing is removing the laminated stock and putting an ATI monte carlo synth on it and also a tactical scope mount from combathunting.com that attaches to the rear sight. now I need to find a decent scope with a good eye relief(10 inches or so). I wanna keep the integrity of the rifle as much as I can so when I come across another that is 1940's, I can switch all the hardware and keep the 1932 unaltered. Probably will be using this gun for hunting, shooting, u name it! And correct me if I'm wrong....are these able to shoot 800 yrds or better?

i thank you for the historical consideration

physically? easily, they can sling a round wayyyy out there .

accuracy wise, its entirely rifle dependent. i think a 32 would do better than a 1940's but again, it can be luck of the draw at times. do you mean MON ( minute of Nazi) or minute of angle at 800;)

Yeah its a file, sorry for the misunderstandin'.

I had a little fun with mine, I wish I had pics, but...
RonE, a member here, sent me the sigh assembly from a sporter he did of a 91/30. I took an aluminum billet and a drill and tap to the rear sight leaf and made a peep style sight, and just kept the front post as was, though I might make a new one... we'll see.
Either way, it turned out well, and it shoot fairly well at 100, I can keep a 2" group, with surplus ammo. I'm not really that good though.
I also threw it into an ati stock, and that helped the recoil a great deal.

I could never get the scout mounts to hold zero for me.
