Against my better judgement I did it!

I had to do it guys - really I did. I had to send my Taurus 627 Tracker back to Taurus for repair. I only hope I'll see her again some time soon. I was having trouble where it was locking up and I couldn't cock it. I needed to jiggle the cylinder a little each time in order for everything to line up. Well the other day the cylinder just started to spin feely - not a good thing. The little spring which engages the slots on the cylinder failed to return. I managed to fix that but I still had to jiggle the cyclinder once in a while and I was afraid it could fire when the chamber and cylinder wasn't in exact alignment which would not be a very good thing for my hand! I took it to a gunsmith and he said Taurus - send it back. I don't think he wanted to work on it was the impression I had. Anyway, the deed is done. Hopefully some time soon she'll be back and working fine. It shot accurate as all get out and I loved the feel and weight. I'm missing her already!:(

I don't own a Taurus but I suspect he (gun shop owner or smith) treated you right. Obviously the Taurus people know the gun the best, dealt with this situation countless times and you will have a better gun in the end. I think once again the shop owner treated you right instead of taking your money. Is Taurus going to take care of this situation on their dime? What did customer service have to say? Just interested in Taurus support. Have a good day.

I sent a revolver to Taurus for repair of a similar problem , got it back in 4 weeks good as new . I think Taurus has very good customer service .

Good luck. Hopefully it will be a quick turn around for you.

I returned a snub. .357 that had a binding cylinder. It worked perfectly when I got it back. I trusted this revolver enough that it was my carry gun for three years.

Glad to hear you've had good service with Taurus. I will be sure to let everyone know what the outcome of this is. I didn't contact Taurus directly in answer to the previous post. By getting on their web site, one can print out a work order, include it in the box and simply send it in. I sent my UPS in a plain wrapper box. Hopefully in a few weeks it'll be back better than new.
