I've quite enjoyed my rather crusty older Super Blackhawk. But what I'd like is something that makes for somewhat easier short to long distance revolver shooting.

So my dream is....

Find a Bisley Hunter in .44Mag. I want this for the full barrel ridge so the sights don't so strongly overpower the look and for the added stiffness given to the barrel and weight to aid in recoil control.

To this my plan is to mill out the front end of the ridge and replace the front sight with a 4 position adjustable height front. The inspiration for this being the multi position front sight used on some S&W revolvers for matches that require setting the sights to various shooting distances.

The 4 options? That's easy. 25, 50, 100 and 200 yards.

So wadda'ya'll think of this idea?

I shot PPC with a revolver built by Davis. The front sight was adjustable and worked as claimed. It made it easy to switch from 7 to 15 to 25 and finally to 50 yards.

Eventually, I went to using a S&W M686 with a Patridge sight, non adjustable. I learned the proper holdover using the B27 target. In the field, I would prefer tha dajustable system, provided I could accurately estimate the distance.
