I bought a 91/30 and an M44 from AIM a couple years ago. Now they have 91/30s that are "arsenally refinished after WWII." How is the quality of these compared to the 91/30s they had before? Do they look better, shoot better, or are they the same thing with a different description?

I am happy with my 91/30 from them, but was thinking of adding another to the collection. I am looking for accuracy first, as well as function (I use my current Mosin for shooting and deer hunting).

Are there other places you would recommend I look at for a good shooter Mosin Nagant? I have a C&R license.

This is what AIM is currently offering.

Very nice looking example. As good as anything I bought a couple of years ago. Arsenal rebuilt guns are often force matched because of method of rearsenal, that just means they were fitted to spec'sthem numbered per requirements. My best matched 91-30 never left the U.S. by Westinghouse, the bore slugs 0.314 and beleave it or not 0.308 slugs rattle down that bore and hit 8" vital area's although I don't hunt with it. I love to shoot with the old dog.

Not really.Moisen Nagants are still the most under valued deal in the country, with a nice M38 going for less than a air rifle at Big Five Sporting Goods.Aim has some really nice ones, and I'd rather have a nice accurate forced match rearsenaled than an all matching ''collecter's peice'' with a loose bolt.

I just got a few 91/30s from Aim this week. The bores are dark but just like they say the rifling is pretty darn strong. The furniture is darn close to the picture that they have on the site. Of the ones I received the bolt/receiver/butt plate match. The magazine floor plates, however, were lined out and restamped (doesn't matter much to me though). None were counter bored and all were generic 1934 to '44 izhevsk receivers. Snagged two VZ 24 mausers too, same deal but I was a bit disapointed with the furniture (great shooters though 2-3 inch moa at 100yrds).
