Hey all! AIM Surplus has the M44 Mosin Nagant carbines in stock. Here they are listed on the website:

http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.a...sian+Mosin+Nagant+Model+1944+7.62x54R+Carbine

They are described as beautiful rifles in "great condition" with a few pictures but nothing really close up. I am just wondering if anyone out there has recently bought an M44 or other Mosin Nagant from AIM Surplus, and if so, did it meet your expectations and was the condition accurately described?

I am in the market for an M44, but most of those I've seen on other sites selling them show examples that are either very well used or are quite expensive for one in good shape. I hoping these AIM guns are truly going to be good examples, I'll be picking the +$10 hand select fee if I decide to order one.

So what do you all think of this, and do you have any reports on these guns from AIM? Thanks! :)

AIM is a good, honest company with a stellar reputation among milsurp fans. You'll get what you pay for. I have personally bought many guns from them, both rifles and pistols, and they're my first choice of retailers. My second was J&G Sales, although only because I used to live in Arizona and was only a 2 hour drive from them; I'd go up and personally handpick my gun.

I have always enjoyed doing business with AIM

But it's human nature to expect too much of military surplus rifles. They are fun for what they are, and some look like new, but most have gotten jostled around a lot.

It's like the scars on leather goods--your assurance of authenticity. The dings and scratches are what make each one unique. The hand pick option may get you one of the better ones, but it is simply the best of five in a quick scan.

M44s are fun to shoot, especially around dusk. They are sighted in with bayonet extended. http://7.62x54r.net/

good outfit, I've bought (literally) thousands from them.

if you want better chance at a "pretty" one, pop for the "handpick".

Ordered, and received, 2 91/30s from AIM a couple of months ago. Accurately described as "very good" condition. I was expecting to have a cosmoline cleaning day when they arrived, but was pleasantly surprised to find both rifles cleaned inside and out.

Not my first order from them, and will not be the last.

I highly recommend AIM Surplus.
