Aimpoint M3 and ML3

Can anyone explain the difference between the Aimpoint M3 and ML3 sights? I know I must be missing something but they appear the same to me.

Also, I'm going to be using the Amega Ranges M14 mount that is due out soon. Any advice on the best quick detach rings which are sturdy, but can be easily removed without tools? Thanks.

M3 has night vision compatible settings, ML3 does not.

You probably know this already...

but the M2/ML2 is also the same optic, just with shorter battery life(10k hours instead of 50k - still over a year of constant "on") and no option for the 2 MOA dot. Unless you plan on getting the 3x magnifier to use with it, you will likely find the 2 MOA dot to be too small to still be fast. The 4 MOA dot is much easier to acquire quickly and is smaller than you might think if you haven't checked them out. Lots of good deals to be had on the M2/ML2's since the M3's came out. $300 is not a rare price for an ML2 over on AR15.com. As far as mounts go, I have the one from LaRue Tactical and it is extremely solid - albeit pricey.
