I'm looking into an optics setup that I've only seen and looked through once. So, I'm looking for some help/advise from those of you who may have more experience with this.

For my new IWI Tavor (bullpup), I want the close range accuracy and fast acquisition of a red dot, combined with the ability to reach out to 200 yds. with the aid of the tripler

As of now I'm looking at... An Aimpoint PRO in front of a Burris tripler in a pivot mount

Will the center of the red dot and tripler be at the same height?

it should but for my money if i want a magnified yet quick sight id take an acog hands down over what your looking at. Ive got both acogs and aimpoints and there both excellent sights. The acog doesnt give up much when it comes to up close and personal if you practice with it a bit and its much better at precision long range shooting. By the time you buy an aimpoint a multiplier and a mount your into the same price range that acogs go for. Another big adavantage is that the acog will be much better in low light.

The tripler has what are essentially windage and elevation adjustments to center the dot, even if the optic and the magnifier aren't perfectly aligned.

Take a look at the Vortex VMX3-T:

When I was shopping for a magnifier for my EOTech 512, I pulled one of every magnifier we sell from the warehouse, and compared them side-by-side. I ended up with the original VMX3. The VMX3T has a much improved mount. Heck of a lot of magnifier for the price. It also includes a spacer for different height optics (absolute and lower 1/3 cowitness) and can be adjusted for elevation and windage to center the dot.

It really is not difficult to make a 200 yard shot with an unmagnified optic. And if you are wanting precision, then a red dot + magnifier isn't the way to go anyways.

Now, will the center of the red dot tube and that of the magnifier be at the same height? No, I don't think so.
