I mounted a scope on my new break barrel air rifle. Found out the scope moves. Can anyone suggest mounts. I have seen pinned mounts but don't remember where.

If you have a magnum air rifle, good luck! The things are impossible, nearly. The mount must have a pin(s). I have taken to using (before giving up on spring rifles for many reasons) using quad rings and drilling the rings. The mount in the listing may not hold a magnum springer. Pinned or not, the scope will still move in the rings because there are only two rings, thus my going to four rings. My VTR (same as the Crossman Trail XL I think) has a welded on rail and I have four rings each with four screws and it will still move until I used (fine) valve compound in the rings.

Good luck.

Really, just get a PCP and bite the bullet and get a pump. Accuracy, effortless power, quiet, no recoil. Can use any scope.

Air rifles are just more effort. I thought a springer would be simpler. Wrong yet again. Lol. Yeah a PCP repeater would be the ticket. I should have just fixed my QB78.

I think springer were, and are great, but when looking for power the PCP is the way to go.
A tuned .22 springer that delivers a 14gr pellet at 600-700fps is about where i think they hit the practical limit....at least when considering "affordable" versions. Ive never really shot any of the highend springers.
Those rail mounts work fine on springers upto about that.

Yeah. I am focused now on my HW30s. If I can get it zeroed in with a scope I'll be happy. I have recovered enough strength to cock it ok. I agree it's about the upper limit for me.

Even after getting the scope fixed solid (good luck) there is still the issue of the barrel not returning to the same position with each cycle. There is a reason springers put their sights on the barrel but then, for some odd reason, mount the scopes on the spring tube which is not in alignment rigidly with the barrel. I am a sour puss when it comes to break barrel spring rifles, I think it is a lost cause, but educational, maybe.

Yeah I know

This setup stays put on my 12 foot pound springer. There is no stop pin on these rings but they are torqued to 25 inch pounds on the dovetail and 15 inch pounds on the top straps.
