A while back, I had some Pellet rifle questions and posted on a related forum and was told to contact Straightshooters. It was great advice, and i'm passing it on to you !! These two guys know more about air rifles than anyone should. They can be a little quirky, and will talk your ear off once you get them warmed up, but they're good guys that know their stuff and will give you the straight scoop.

Spring Guns with barrel droop/rise?

Old Sneaky here: I recently ran into a problem installing/zeroing a scope on a BeemanSS1000 - 3X9combo for a customer. When zeroing I had run out of Vertical adjustment and had a nice 5 shot group @ 30yds(3/4") but it was 4-1/4" high and no way to go down. (I had to shim up the front ring). When quiring on another forum someone mentioned that Cabelas had a mount by RWS-C-mount that has built in elevation and windage adjustments in the mount. Might be something to look into??? Personally I'm not very keen on any system where the sights( scope) and barrel aren't in direct contact as spring guns aren't. THANX--SNEAKY

Sneaky makes a good point. Some airguns, like the highly popular RWS 34 like my brother has is notorious for "barrel droop", making necessary an adjustable mount or the use of shims. Oddly, my brother mounted his scope right up and never had a problem with barrel droop. We don't have a clue why. Also, apparantly all adjustable mounts are not created equal.And...you may not even need one.
Again, call Craig and Kevin @ straightshooters.com. I bought my Beeman R9 from them, and they've been more than helpful with my numerous bonehead questions and issues.
