I recently purchased a S&W 696 from a Pawn shop & love it. It came with a set of stag AJAX grips. Is anyone familiar with this brand & what their value would be?

The original AJAX went out of business some years ago and the machining, stock, and name were purchased by another corporation and put back into business. They are on the net again so a search should bring up what a current value would be. Probably about $40 new and about $20 used. I believe the current owner is a member here.

$20 for stag grips?!?!?!?!?!?

Sorry sir but back before India stopped exporting Sambar stag antlers, Ajax' stag grips were around $100. After the export ban, virtually any good set of real stags will be at least $200. Nice ones can be as much as $300-$400. I've got a set of Ajax stags on a Colt New Frontier that would be worth at least $300 in today's market. Ajax has made some cheap stuff and most aftermarket grips don't fit very good but their stags, if properly fitted, are very good.

Thanks Craig, That's what I thought, but didn't want to start a debate. Since I use the 44 spec for HD I didn't want to lose the gun, in case of a shooting, with those grips if they were indeed as valuable as I thought. I think I'll put them on on something else. Thanks

If you're ever involved in a shooting, losing your firearm to the evidence locker will be the least of your worries.

No I don't have any pics and I'm dumb as a rock when it comes to computers. But I will try to get one of my kids to educate me about posting pics and get one for you. It was the first 696 that I've found and couldn't pass it up. I am more accurate with it than any revolver I've ever shot. I'm on the prowl for another one.
