If you read my previous post, you already know that I'm giving my cousin my RRA Entry Tactical for his birthday on the 13th...

Here's the thing...

I'm trying to decide on an AK-47 variant to replace my AR-15 and have narrowed it down to the Yugo M70 and the AES-10b. It's basically little brother vs. bigger brother. I've heard nothing but good things about the M70 but have any of you handled and/or fired the AES-10b? Which would you reccommend??? My brain hurts from all this thinking and I'm trying to make my mind up by this weekend! Please HELP!

It's basically little brother vs. bigger brother.
The M70's big brother would be the Yugo RPK. The AES-10b is based on the Romanian RPK. They are both great guns, hard to make the wrong choice.

Zoom6zoom,
I just meant that in terms of their size haha. The Yugo RPK is nice but i like the looks of the carry handle a lot.

Are there any noticeable differences in accuracy between those two rifles?

If you're gonna hang the RPK on the wall, the carry handle's great!

Lots of reports of them falling off with minimal usage (the AK wasn't designed with a carry handle)

I like my AES-10B. I got the bipod replaced with the correct unit (it comes with a PKM bipod) and had mine parkerized. It's a 4MOA rifle with decent balance and just a little different from a run of the mill AK. BSW

The heavier barrel of the RPK definitely has the potential for better accuracy if that's what you're after. I believe the AES also has a new barrel. A lot of the Yugo's don't but are still great shooters. For portability, the M70AB2 underfolder is one of my favorites, I have the fixed stock M70B1 and the Yugo RPK as well. Wish I had picked up the AES when they were $379.
