ak-ar drum mags

I am interested in buying a drum mag for an AK and a drum mag for an AR. Any advice on what to get-what to look for? I see that cheaper than dirt has both. I no ziltch about drum mags so any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

Get the AK mags that open instead of having to be fed from the top (very annoying).

As far as AR drums are concerned, Beta C-mag.

Thanks hso. I was checking out youtube and it looks like the AK drum mags that open in the back are the way to go. Looking at my cheaper than dirt catalog the price for an AR double drum mag [beta c mag] is a bit expensive for me at the moment. In the cheaper than dirt mag it shows reviews favor the AR-15 drum,loading tool [mag-055] over the AR-15 double drum [mag-056]. But I like the price of the mag-055. Maybe I should start saving my pennies. Also, the mag-056 looks better. Plan on going to a gun show this Sat. so I will keep my eyes open for all three.

Went to a gun show yesterday and at one table I found an AK drum mag and a Beta C mag for an AR. Yippee! Both new in box. Price for AK mag was $99.99 and price for AR mag was about $270.Nice price and since I wanted to buy both we worked a deal out. Now to get to the range to try them out.
