AK folding stock

I'm sure a polymer stock could be fitted to this, it's just a matter of having the basic skills to do it.

The problem with that setup is that it adds a couple of inches to the LOP which would, for me, make the rifle awkward to shoot.

See thats actually one of the things I figured would be nice, especially for putting a scope on there.

What kind of work do you think would be involved?

Forgive my ignorance but are "all" K-Var products manufactured in the USA? It makes a difference in parts count for 922r compliance.

IIRC the poly and triangle stocks have different pivot pin diameters. I have a spare Rommy wire folder (lever type) if you're interested.

Not exactly. There are two different diameters out there of pin: 4.5 and 5.5mm. Apparently the Sov started with 4.5mm and later decided to increase the diameter to 5.5mm. The Bulgarians copied the earlier design (4.5mm) and have stuck with it.

So, if it's Russian it's either 4.5 or 5.5mm depending on age. Bulgarian should be 5.5mm.

I prefer the poly to the metal triangle for a shooter. Doesn't get as hot in the summer or cold in the winter, you still have the storage for the cleaning capsule, and it fits me better.

The metal triangle sidefolder does look cooler.

I bought an AK that had one of the K-VAR folding stock on it. I ended up putting it on a Century AK-74, trying to give it a better look. The LOP was about the same as the NATO length aftermarket stocks and fit perfectly on stamped recievers.

My brother ended up putting it on his Saiga-12 after having the gun converted. All in all, it doesn't look too bad.
