Looks cool to me. Loading and unloading 223 ak mags is rough on my fingers.

I used to have my daughters load them up for me before a range trip. Now, with the M-16 version, I take the ammo in boxes and just take two magazines that I load as the gun cools from the last stage. It's super-quick and natural.

A gun-show vender in Puyallup, WA always has these strip loaders that are long, flimsey, but fast. I took the LULA to the show to impress him one day. I loaded the mag as fast as he loaded his long strip loader and didnt' have to jam the rounds into the mag afterward. Then I unloaded it in about three seconds. That's faster than the gun unloads it for me.

AK Mag Loader Update

I got my AK loader in the mail. In the last half hour, i've unloaded and reloaded the same magazine with the same ammo 30 times. My son walked in while I was doing and stopped. He sat there staring for a few minutes and then said "AWESOME!" While I'm not 14 anymore, my enthusiasm for this device is just as strong.

My fingers don't hurt, my magazine and ammo are unscratched, and there wasn't a single hitch. I turned the lights out and did four loading/unloading repititions with no problems whatsoever. Effortless. I'm sold!

when i was 14, and i was taught to load standard 30 rounds AK mag for less than 30 seconds, if i remember it correctly. No additional help devices were allowed, and we used to load magazines at least 10 times during training sessions. The pity was that the ammo was dummy

this was some 16 years ago, but i believe that i still can fieldstrip AK and then bring it back to work in less than 90 seconds, and load half-dozen of mags in about 5 minutes or less. It is like riding bicycle - once you learned it, it stays forever.
