Looking to put a peep sight on my AK, just something that will replace the rear sight without any mods needed. So, who has what and what are the pros and cons of the three. This will mainly be for range use and some tactical rifle/3 gun matches.

The only one I have is the mojo. It works great, much faster to acquire than the standard rear sight. However, there's no adjustment for elevation like on the standard AK sight. They may have come out with a new version since then though. No experience on the others.

I have the Williams AK aperture sight on my unconverted Saiga 7.62 x 39. The FS was left as is.

It works great and holds zero. Easy install. Less than 25 bucks.

I like aperture sights and have used Williams receiver sights for 40 years. This one works fine for me. Great improvement over regular iron sights.

Correction of BryanP's info...Mojo Clicksights are available for the AK platform here: http://www.powercustom.com/Mojo/parts_mojo.htm

I have a Krebs sight on mine and it works great. Was simple to install, allows for fast target aquisition and still allows elevation changes with the slider off the original sight. Windage is still adjusted with the front sight unless Krebs has one or two remaining windage adjustable rear sights.

I also removed the front sight from mine and installed a bright orange front sight from Tapco.

I have a Krebs on my AK, a Mojo on a Mosin M44, and Williams that I have not yet installed on my SKS. The Krebs is definitely AK worthy - very solid and sturdy. The Mojo is a bit more refined but does not inspire the confidence that it can take the abuse that the Krebs can take - but it has a very nice quality feel to it. The Williams I can't really comment on yet.

As a side note, have a gun vise or a friend - or better yet, both - on hand when you change that rear sight. Getting off the old sight takes some concentration, putting on the new one can be a challenge.

Getting the sight off was the easy part for me. I used a flathead screwdriver with tape over the end and a hammer. Place the head on the spring bellow sight with the sight vertical and whack the butt of the screwdriver and the sight will pop out. Granted this sounds pretty crude, but it works. A campy sight tool works good as well http://www.redstararms.com/ .

Not to change the subject here, but if you really want to change the sights, spend a little extra money and go right to a red dot. I guarantee, you wont regret it. A forward mounted red dot brings the AK into the 21st century and you will be amazed at how well your "inaccurate" AK will shoot. It is also a 24/7 sight.

The easiest way I've found to get the rear sight off only requires a large flat blade screwdriver with a piece of duct tape on the blade, and a solid work bench or table corner. A buddy is also a big help, but its not bad by yourself. I put the rifle across the corner of the bench, resting on the flat of the magwell just ahead of the trigger. Leave the sight in its normal position. Take the screwdriver and put it in the slot on top of the sight, at the point just above the little tits that hold it in place. Now this is where you have to be a little careful. Push down and slightly rearward with the screwdriver. It takes a little pressure, but not a whole lot. The sight should pop right out. If your not paying attention, you might stab yourself, or worse, the old lady's dinning room table. (dont ask me how I know this part. :) ) Believe me, its better to stab yourself. It does come flying out pretty quick, and pretty easy, so watch yourself. To get the new sight, or the old one back in, slide it in the track and push it straight back in. Keep it down, dont try to stand it up.

I just got a Krebs custom peep for my Arsenal AK and am VERY happy with it, no more "managed blur"
