so... lots of reports of ARs back in the $700-800 range like "normal"

have AKs dropped as well? can you get decent ones in the $300-400 range now? or are they still $500+?

what's it like where you are?

I just saw a nice used WASR10 with a wind up drum for 450.00

Seemed reasonable to me.

Also saw a AES10 for 350.00

2 years ago, cheapies were 259-359 or so. During the post election, they screamed to around 600-900 for even cheapies with the average being around 700 or so.

I see prices are back down to sort of reasonable prices but not 2 year ago pricing. WASR10s are around 450 or so at various websites such as Classic Arms. The AKs that really jumped badly in price were the more unusual models such as underfolders, Yugos, AES10Bs, and so on. THey have dropped as well and are back down to around 500 or so.

I bought my AES10B about 2 years ago for 399, if you can find one, they are still around 550.

I did recently buy a Yugo fixed stock for 325 from my dealer but that was just a used tradein gun.

Pricing in real life is better but still at the 500 price for most.

The WASR with the drum is a great price. Figure even if its a south korean wind up drum, the drum is still worth about 125 so you are in a sense paying 325 for the rifle. Good deal.

Was the AES a 10 or a 10B? There is a HUGE differnce between the 2. The older cheap AES10 was nothing more than a WASR 10 with a longer barrel with a strange bipod. The AES10B was an actual RPK with the proper bulged trunnion and heavy long barrel and a bipod which was mounted properly even though it technically wasn't "correct".

I wouldn't pay more than 350 for an AES10 but would pay a fair amount more for the real AES10B

No it was a AES10. I have an AES10B myself and its a completely different animal than the AES10.

And yeah, the WASR was a nice deal.

Got my AES10B from Classic Arms for 399.00 :)

About 3 weeks ago Centerfire did the AMD-65 w/1000rds shipped for $549, at the time with the value of a case of ammo ship that put it in $370-380s. It only lasted for a couple days. There where not AMDs instock a year ago but romainians were up to lower to mid $400s a year ago, up from a low of maybe $289-329 in the early spring. Have seen Romainian underfolders for $459. Those two seem to be the best deals, I think you can consider them "normal pre-Obama" prices.

AR market is dead. I had backordered several uppers or kits in Dec-Mar. I lucked out and found a good deal on a midlength while waiting. I had a DPMS upper come in a week or so ago that I had forgot I had ordered, it was ordered on a wholesale account so I thought no biggie I will make a few bucks on this since I bought cheap and there is 6-12month wait from DPMS. I'm getting ready to see if vendor will take it back. Put in trader section for $410 (on this website) and it is just sitting there with no interest. I had offered it as complete to just to get rid of it in the $700s. I called Deltron and Model 1 and canceled my backorders with them this week, I did not want to be stuck with them also.

my shop seems to have a neat math equation for their pricing:

best online competitive price + shipping + the gun shop's transfer fee = what the gun shop sells a gun for. Pretty nice, considering how big of a rip all the other shops are around here.

so, $459.99 + $20 + $30 = about $510-520 for WASR-10s

they have a few Yugo underfolders and an M70AB1 for 659.99. If I had the money to spare I'd grab one. PSL's are $749.99 as well.

Most non-Colt ARs here are back to their normal pricing, but a Colt will still go for about 1400-1500 bucks here (I'm in SE VA)

Same here!! Nice to meet you!!

I remember when I called Ben to see if he had them in stock, I was darn near breathless with excitement after seeing them on his site and feeling the big hype when they first came along. They were out of them but he said he would take a pre-order for 399.00 and ship it when it came in. I asked him, "really, would you really do that for me?" :D

Of course he did and he took the order and had another happy customer. I bought from Classic many times and was always happy. I haven't ordered from the new owners yet but will give them a try real soon.

Centerfire is advertising 5.45x39 Saigas for $369, so yeah, I guess things are "back to normal". . .
