AK Question

Is it normal for there to be some play where the gas piston connects to the bolt carrier? In a Yugo AK47 full stock in particular.

yep. they are supposed to wiggle a little bit. my wasr does that too.

hmm....they're tight as a drum on my romy and my saiga.

Gas piston is firm in my Saigas and has a great deal of movement in the Arsenals. Don't really know why the difference but all are 100% reliable so quit wondering why.

Saiga here too, it's tight. But pretty much any US piston can be used in a Saiga... so ???

This is actually a new one to me.

One the following Rifles that I've owned, they have been VERY tight, and the rifles have been reliable:

Saiga 308
Vector Polish underfolder
Century SAR-1
Home-built Romanian "G"

Maybe I have a way of attracting tight rifles....

I read somewhere "official" that wiggle is fine, many of mine do have wiggle and others are tight. They all go bang.

If its working and a "little" loose, you should be fine.
