AK Side rail-what is the truth

Hey guys,
What is the truth about AK side rails? I know there is a PSL/SVD version and an AK version. Now, I have an SGL-21-71, and I use the K-Var mount designed for it. However, the K-Var mount has a dragunov style lever system. So besides height off of the receivers, does an SVD mount work on an AK rail?

They are similar, but different.



Left is for AK, right SVD. Both have stops for forward travel (installed from back to front) . The Ak mount's stop is at the rear of the mount. The SVD's stop is the pin at the front. These are the main differences.
