I know a really top-notch gunsmith in Fort Worth, if you are still looking.
I'm due to call him today about a job he's doing for me (as a friend; but I would recommend him as a gunsmith even if he were my worst enemy. He hand-built me a .45 that's gorgeous action-wise and aesthetically, has never performed less than flawlessly, and is an absolute tack-hammer.)
Shall I ask him for you if he has time to take on your job? It is a pretty straightforward one, so he won't overcharge you. (I would not imply you're committing to hiring him, or anything, of course, just ask about his availability and whether he has his new shop set up -- he moved himself and his business from OK rcently.)
I'd give you his e-mail, but he doesn't check it much -- I think he dislikes computers because they're about the only mechanical - sorta - thing he can't reliably fix.
So, let me know. If you are still in need, and he has the time and setup, you guys could take discussions from there.
