Howdy, all... be nice to the rookie, ok?
Have any of you dealt with AKJ Concealco ?
My wife and I are shopping for a holster for her 3" SP101. She requires deep concealment, (getting 'made' may cost her job) while at work, but also her greatest need for protection is while working. Her job takes her in to the homes and businesses of of strangers, often for one-on-one appointments. Job is good- and it will be even better with a method to 'control' the situation... should one arise.
We bought an Uncle Mike's IWB neoprene giddyupfor her to get the feel for IWB and to research what might be needed in a 'real' holster. Money wasted? Nah- we learned alot from it. We read the Cunningham site about finding a holster for ladies, as well as many threads here and at 1911forum. We have found the best fit for both comfort and concealbility is going to be with the grip at 3:00, with the pistol canted forward enough that the grip is vertical. This seems to be more cant than most leathermakers (?) use in their designs. The aggresive cant takes much of the muzzle-pushing-against-the-hip factor out of it. This AKJ holster seems to have enough adjustment in it to allow just such carry, but I haven't been able to contact anyone in three days of trying... Can anyone recommend them (keep trying) or another company to look at?
I have loked at:
brommeland,
Rafter S (ordered my 1911 IWB and a pair of belts for both of us)
Milt Sparks
Knull
shoot... (not really... wrong place to use such an exclamation) I can't remember them all, but I may have overlooked something, somewhere, anyway.
