Broadview just bought ADT...

haven't heard this.

if it's true, it'll be good for ADT customers.

anyone that currently has ADT should contact them to make sure they are getting a signal from your alarm system. they did not contact me to tell me i wasn't for months, they were simply taking my money and providing no coverage.

i got a 3 month refund after writing a letter to ADT's corporate office.

Can anyone relate a FIRST HAND experience of a HOME alarm system being the reason the BG was caught or run off?

Good info here, but it seems everyone is defending what they have, but I haven't read any info here about any system that actually worked.

Sorry, don't mean to high jack this thread.

Yes, sir, I can. It happened last Friday afternoon. I got a call from ADT alerting me to an alarm on my back sliding door. My mind raced through reasons that it might be a false alarm, and I couldn't come up with anything. I told them to roll, and they said they would, and would also call Metro.

I was an agonizing 45mins. from home, but the wife was closer, ~15mins. When I got there, the armed response officer and my wife had checked out the place, and turned off the alarm.

My wife had alerted Metro that the place was "safe", and they responded that they would send an officer to take the report.

There were pry bar marks on the back sliding door where someone slipped them in and tried to jack the door apart. That, of course, set off the alarm. The alarm did it's job.

The LEO that showed up, later that evening, took the information, and filled out the report. During the interview, he asked me if I felt that ADT was a "good investment", as he was not sure himself, and wanted an opinion for his home. I was like... Duh, I am giving you a report that doesn't involve stolen property, so YEAH, it is worth every stinking penny.

Worth it, very worth it to me.
