Alien Gear 1.0 vs 2.0

Getting my mother a Holster for her XDS 4.0. I took her a bunch of holsters of mine along with a the firearms that fit it and she tried them at home over the coarse of a few days. she found the two clip Hybrid's Most comfortable, but I cant afford to get an MTAC or Crossbreed for her like she tried on.

I was looking at the Alien Gear Holsters as I have heard lots of good things, even had people tell me they switched from crossbreed to alien gear. the 3.0 is a bit out of budget but the 1.0 and 2.0 are affordable for me. (pushing it, but affordable, I know the cost difference seems minimal, but nickle and dimes is what kills a budget) the thing is I don't know which to get her, Its a gift and she is not aware that i'm getting her the holster (talked to my father about it though).

seems most people talk about the 2.0. but my brain tells me leather is a better material (maybe theirs is an inferior leather? or not real leather?) anyway, does anyone have experience with BOTH these holster and could tell me why they chose one over the other? Thanks!

I have been carrying my J frame in a 2.0 for the last two years every day all day.
The holster looks pretty beat up but is still 100% functional. I could probably keep wearing it for several more years.
I will upgrade to the 3.0 as soon as they make them for revolvers......I have the 3.0 for my autos and they are even more comfortable than the 2.0.

I have the 1.0 for my J frame as well......just never wear it. The neoprene backing is that much more comfortable than the leather.
