Hey guys, I recently bought an Alien Gear OWB holster for a G45 with a TLR-7 light, every time I inserted the gun into the holster it turned the light on, so I asked customer service about it and they promptly shipped me a new one, I got the new one in and it has the exact same issue. Upon contacting customer service again they told me i need to use the largest spacers that are included to correct the issue, this didnt correct the issue and their was so much space that the weapon was not secured at all and would fall freely from the holster if at any angle. After this they suggested that I go to a hardware store and buy even larger screws and stack the spacers on top of each other to fix it. My question is, is this even worth it? The weapon already has zero retention with the 5/8 spacers so if i add the smallest spacers on top that would almost be unsafe. Is there anything I can do to solve this myself?

Well, I have lots of AG holsters but none for my light-bearing weapons. I have modified a number of holsters with a Dremel tool. Can you identify the spot that is switching the light on and modify that spot with a Dremel tool ? If you think you might need to make a channel I think you could do it by heating the holster but you are beyond me at that point.

Yes, see the problem i think is that the part that is turning the switch on is a raised rubber portion on the interior of the holster, I believe that is what is used for retention as well so im a little hesitant to Dremel it away. You can see the streak where the switch is dragging

Dremel a channel to pass the light switch and tighten the remainder down so it is retaining against the rest of your weapon / light. Should work.

I have a couple Alien Gear holsters. I think there was a buy one get one for half price sale. Both fit the gun about as well as a coffee can and now live in the box of crappy holsters.

Hmm, after looking at the rubber piece im not sure theres really enough material to grind away without ripping through it, I might see if they can just exchange it for a model with no Light. To me that bump seems like such a glaring design flaw though. Is there any suggestions on a good OWB holster for a G45 with a TLR-7?
