I use 6.7 most of the time with lrn.The oal length on mine normally run around 1.235 due to the manufactures shape.

I have used 6.1 a fair amt.,but it's lower than the lymans starting point, but I'm loading mine shorter than what they show too.

I just loaded the 800 fps spec 7.1gr from the Hornady book witch is .1gr off Allient's spec.
Is this a clean burning powder?

If loaded hot it is reported to be very clean. I do not have a lot of experience with it, but many folks swear by it for many applications.

I would choose something different for a target load, and can get all I want from a 230 Gr bullet in the .45 with AA #5, which is very clean at .45 pressures.

great stuff, meters great.

+1 on looking on Alliant Powder website for load data.

I've shot 6.7,7.1,7.5 grains of PP with WLR primer and 230gr FMJ or 230gr JHP. 7.5 is hot load, but a max load on their site.

Power Pistol was used in a 45 Super article for his loads.
