Alliant R-15.. 223/5.56 loads?

I have a buttload of FMJ 55 grain bullets and a fresh pound of Alliant R15 powder to shoot in my gas gun. Any load suggestions? This is a new powder for me...

Alliant doesn't show it used with 55 grain bullets.
Too slow burning for 55..

Used with heavier bullets though.

Lyman #49 shows it with 60 & 69 grain.
Max load of 26.5 with 60 & 69 is a compressed charge.

RE-7 and 10X are better suited for 55 gr.

And I wouldn't waste it on FMJ, I would use an easier to find powder.

I use R-15 for 75gr OTM type bullets. For 55gr bullets I use Ramshot X-Terminator.

26.5 grains R-15 with 55 grain FMJ is a max load. I found that 25.5 grains of R-15 with an OAL of 2.20" is the most accurate load in my gas-gun. Good shooting!
