For that kind of money you should take a good look at a brand new Ruger PC carbine. I picked one up back in July and couldn't be happier. I know the Marlin Camp Carbines have a good reputation ( from what I've heard) but I've not heard of any problems with the Rugers, ( zero problems with mine, so far)
I've had 2 so far and both had minor reliability issues. Moving on to a Scorpion and see how that goes. I'll probably end up with another PCC after they have had a little time to mature.
I bought a Destroyer carbine at the end of 2016. It's a fun gun to shoot, and I made a chamber adapter for shooting 9mm Luger, from a steel 9mm casing. My only problem is I still haven't managed to get the feed lips for the magazines adjusted to properly feed 9mm Luger.
