I recently bought a LNIB nickel plated model 36. Serial number dates it to 1981. It was nice enough to have been not fired outside the factory. Unfired or not didn’t matter, since I don’t have safe queens.
I shot 35 or 40 rounds through it a couple days ago. Wow! What a great trigger.
I spent a good 90 minutes today cleaning it up to look like new again, including the dreaded burn rings on the cylinder face

That is such a sweet looking revolver. I am glad you are shooting it and you like it. I have a blued model 36 and it had a better trigger pull than my other J frames. Not sure why.

Beautiful what did you use in the cleaning. It really came out nice?

Wow, that's some nice cleaning up you've done there! I had a nickel plated Model 38 many years ago and really loved how shiny it looked. Eventually I got a Model 649 to replace it and since it was stainless steel I decided to try and make it nickel plated bright as well (with the help of Mother's Mag Polish and a lot of elbow grease)!

Thank you for the positive comments

I have a 638,442, model 60 Pro and a pre43. This 36 has the best trigger pull by far.

I cleaned it with Breakfree CLP, but used a dremel on low speed & Mothers on the cylinder face. When clean, I went over the whole gun lightly by hand, with Mothers and gently buffed it off. That was done as more of a "Deep Cleaning" than an effort to polish. Now that it is all cleaned up, I should give it a coat of Renwax
