Always hitting high on target

I have shot a few different handguns the past couple of years, probally a 1000 rounds through a semi auto, and a couple hundred through others. It seems that I am always about 4 -6 inches high with sight centered on bottom of 8 inch bullseye at 10 yards. I thought ok lets try a revolver. So I got an sp101 in 327 with crimson trace. Same problem, but the ct did show me that when the trigger breaks the muzzle flips up a good amount (when dry firing) no matter how easy I pull the trigger, great groups (for me) 2 to 3 inches. Any suggestions? Thanks for your time.

Dry fire practice...you are heeling...that is, leaning into the butt of the gun.

Heeling...anticipating recoil and pushing into the gun...usually throws shots low-left for a right handed shooter.

Try clamping down harder on your grip...bend your elbows and push with the strong hand and pull with the support hand to lock the gun in more solidly. The gun is in recoil while the bullet is still in the barrel. The higher the muzzle rises before it exits, the higher the impact on target will be. Not as prominent in autos as with revolvers due to the way recoil affects them...but still potentially a contributor.

If that doesn't help...be sure that you're obtaining the correct sight picture. Top of front sight and top of rear sight in a straight line across the top.

First, try a lot of dry firing. When you get the dot to stay on target when the hammer falls, then transition to live fire.

How about trying something with a lighter bullet? Since they exit the muzzle more quickly, the muzzle doesn't have a chance to rise as much before the bullets are clear of the barrel.
