Am I Partly to Blame?

+1. Yeah, finally a thread where we hear some "true confessions" about this shortage.
You mean all the posters on all of these "hoarding" threads dont just have components/ammo for the present month?

LOL

kcofohio, following careful thought and due consideration I wish to retract my previous comments in this thread. I wish now to place the entire blame for the current shortage of ammunition and reloading components squarely where it belongs and that would be on you. It's all your fault.

Not only ammunition and reloading supplies but it goes much further. I see you are in NW Ohio? I also place the blame for this crappy winter in NE Ohio on you. I went to my indoor range today, generally by now I would be shooting 200 yards plus in mild weather. Not sure how you managed it but you screwed up the weather and today's cold rain? Yep. I blame you! I also hear beef prices are rising and blame you for that also.

You should be ashamed but because I am a forgiving person if you send all your powder and primers from NW Ohio to NE Ohio to me I will forgive you. This is a one time good deal for you.

Ron

I have about 6000 rounds of 22LR, but don't own anything chambered for it. Is that bad? ;)
Hahahaha..

I got a kick out of that...

Since we're in a confessional mood here, right? I love it!

Also, ReloadRon, that is to funny..the bad weather too? Funny..we can throw limes in there too, over 100$ per bushel (1 and 1/9 bushel actually)...theyre usually around 20 bucks..Farmers are actually using armed guards for some of the lime fields down there in Mejico(so i hear).

I don't have anything chambered for 22LR, but it does get shot. About half of it is set aside for BSA shooting stuff. The other half is my own personal stash. I had a Model 60 until my brother shot it and decided he wanted it back. It's his, but his wife wouldn't let him keep it in his house. I had it for about 8 years.

LOL. I thought you were thumbing your nose at all the hoarder talkers.

Since we're being honest here, i admit I do have a stash of 22 also with no 22 to put them in YET...Im up to 150 rds so I dont think i fall into the hoarder category..never know around here though. I may get hate mail.

I plan on getting one, and who wants to bring a gun home and not have any ammo for it? Not me.

Dont tell, but I also have a couple boxes of 7.62x39:neener: with no home..

ron, (lol) thanks for being the gracious person that you are (sic). But at this time I'll gamble more with the powder than with man. ;)
BTW, I have been blamed for much worse than this. :)
Not sure how I screwed the weather up, must have placed my order in wrong. When I got in touch with customer service, I was informed it was too late to change order. And I would have to get an RMA to return it?! :banghead:
Beef prices, well that could be because my wife got into ordering Omaha Beef here lately, maybe that is it.

I've got 40lbs of powder all of the hard to get ones yep I've got them go ahead call me a hoarder. :fire: :banghead: I have thousands of primers and brass plus a healthy supply of bullets you know what I call that being prepared every time I see a good price I buy it I haven't bought any components above what they were before Newtown quit whining because you didn't see the writing on the wall so to speak maybe next time you will have a better stock

Just to bring it back to the lightness --- Ron -- I'm glad that KC is Of OHIO!
I enjoyed a beautiful South Florida day today -- it was low 80's, low humidity, slight breeze and just awesome. I enjoyed an evening at the range with some friends. Oh, that was the outdoor range.
So -- KC keep that weather up there. Oh, and make sure that when you drop off the primers at Ron's you ship the powder to me.

As to powders: I do try and keep the pistol powders to 1 or 2. Win231 for most everything and IMR4227 or 2400 for 357 Mag, and maybe Unique or Bullseye or 45 Colt.
Since I haven't found 231 in a while, I've been loading 9mm, 40 S&W, and 38 Spcl (will do 45 ACP) with WST. I also picked up some Promo (Red Dot) and will develop loads for 9mm, 40 S&W, 38 Spcl and 45 ACP.
On rifle powders I have learned what Archangel says is true. You can't get away with only 1 or 2 powders.
I load or will load for a large variety of cartridges. 223 Rem, 308, 30-06, 6.5x55 Swede, 8mm Mauser, 7.5x55 Swiss, 303 Brit, 30-40 Krag, 7.7 Jap and 6.5 Jap.

I like BL-(C)2 and RL-15 but haven't seen them in a while. Just got some LT32 that I will be trying in 223 and 308. I have some XMR4064 and a few others to play with the other calibers.

yep; 5# goex, 1 # pyrodex, 1# 777, 5# 4831, 2# 4064, 3#4350, 1# of unique; 1#RL-12, 1#pistol powder and 8# Red Dot

I am getting better though, 20 years ago a fella had the hots for my $90 trolling motor and traded me 25# of 4831, 3# green dot, 2/m primers a couple open bags of shot and threw $20 on top. I used almost it all up except for the 4831 which all my brothers and children and relatives have been shooting since day 1 and I still have close to 5 pounds to go before I die. I working on it though. I am still looking for a recipe to stuff it into .303 British cartridge shooting a 180 grain round nose for deer hunting.

I was addicted to the Hokey Pokey, but now I've turned myself around. That's what it's all about!:):):)

I didn't read this thread so if I repeat someone sorry. The people buying for there own use isn't the problem. The people buying it out of fear ether buying stuff they don't really need our those paying to much are the problem. They have the flippers buying everything. I don't blame the flippers it is the people paying stupid process the problem.

Started reloading this year since I shoot IDPA twice a month with a 9mm pistol, year round (miami florida). Already went through a pound of unique in 3 months was down to my last pound and got really really lucky and was able to snipe an 8 pound jug of unique from powder valley by dumb chance. After that I broke down and wrote some software to scan websites I know sells unique every two minutes and if it detects it is in stock sends me a txt and an email. If I can't find unique I will have to try and find an alternative powder like red dot or bullseye.

I guess since I can't find powder when I run out of the 3k of primers I have left that will be the next thing I stock up on to match the remainder of the powder that I have.

All I am saying is that I have sufficient powder on hand to continue my reloading/shooting unabated for a while.
