Am I the only one who HATES disassembling a Glock?

Last night I totally disassembled and cleaned my Para 16.40 and 18.9 LDA and my Glock 35 and 21. I have to admit that the Glocks were a cinch and done quickly and the two 1911 were a bitch and took a lot longer.

When I had my G17 I could pull the slide off with one hand. Dont ask me how, I cant remember. No real advantage to it, just a result of bordem.

Wait a sec, why are you cleaning a glock? They run better when theyre dirty, mine did anyway.

I was afraid this post might just sort of fade away and no one would pay attention to it . . . . guess I don't have to worry about that.


Oh well. If I never did anything stupid, what would ever get done? I just need to shoot more.

Don, unless you forget to clear your Glock before pulling the trigger for disassembly, you haven't done anything REALLY stupid yet.

My old P89 was a booger to get back together. I would work forever trying to get it reassembled, then someone told me to pull the slide all the way back and the locking pin would slide right into place. If you didn't pull the slide all the way back the pin would slide behind the barrel and cause it to stick out of the end of the slide. I heard that little problem was a main factor in Ruger loosing the military contract to Berretta.

It ain't cheating if it works - called ingenuity I shoot other folk's Glocks, other folks guns - I let them clean them.

Of course I am the guy that hands my Gunsmith buddy my gun(s) to clean while I go shoot the new Caspian frame and slide he just built, grab something else to go play with, try for myself that new ammo...etc.

I can look real dumb and innocent..."Let me shoot that Glock to see how the new night sights work....here check my gun to see if it needs lube or something...out back I run to go shoot...I drink up his coffee, help myself to his Cokes too while I am there...

" Now show me one more time how you take that Glock apart"..., <drinks coffee, looks stupid, and grinning>
